Frei Leandro directed the Garden from
1824 to 1829. He constructed a hillock with the earth taken from the lake
that would later have his name and built the Casa dos Cedros (House of Cedar)
on top of it.
At the center of the hillock there is a granite table. D.
Pedro I and D. Pedro II used to have quick meals on that table while visiting
the Botanical Garden, that's why it is known as the Emperor's Table.
